Galaw-Galaw sa Tag-araw
Panooring ang bidyong ito:
Aralin No. 4 - SUBUKIN at SUBUKAN

The Philippines as "Nation of Servants"
The Philippines is a "nation of servants".
Sen. Pia S. Cayetano
The Philippines is a "nation of builders".
Inday
I was hurt when I heard the news that Sen. Pia S. Cayetano slammed HK writer Chip Tsao labelling the Philippines as a "nation of servants" on his article"The War at Home".

The 5-paragraph article is below. Judge for yourself if you get hurt after reading this.
The War at Home
By Chip Tsao
The Russians sank a Hong Kong freighter last month, killing the seven Chinese seamen onboard. We can live with that-—Lenin and Stalin were once the ideological mentors of all Chinese people. The Japanese planted a flag on Diàoyú Island. That's no big problem-—we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons, Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke.
But hold on-—even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: There are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as US$3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don't flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.
As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell everyone of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.
Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her Government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings. Oh yes. The Government of the Philippines would certainly be wrong if they think we Chinese are prepared to swallow their insult and sit back and lose a Falkland Islands War in the Far East. They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout 'China, Madam/Sir' loudly whenever they hear the word "Spratly". They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout, "Long live Chairman Mao!" at the sight of a portrait of our Great Leader during the Cultural Revolution. I’m not sure if that's going a bit too far, at least for the time being.

Toilet Humour
I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying: "Hi, how are you?"
I'm not the type to start a conversation in the men's restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed, "Doin' just fine!"
And the other guy says: "So what are you up to?"
What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say: "Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"
At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question. "Can I come over?"
Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell him, "No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"
Then I hear the guy say nervously... "Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions!!!"

Lesson No. 2 - Integers
Example:
Integers are useful in comparing a direction associated with certain events. Suppose I take five steps forwards: this could be viewed as a positive 5. If instead, I take 8 steps backwards, we might consider this a -8. Temperature is another way negative numbers are used. On a cold day, the temperature might be 10 degrees below zero Celsius, or -10°C.
Examples:
9 > 4, 6 > -9, -2 > -8, and 0 > -5
Examples:
1) I 6 I= 6
Examples:
a) 2 + 5 = 7
2) When adding integers of the opposite signs, we take their absolute values, subtract the smaller from the larger, and give the result the sign of the integer with the larger absolute value.
Example:
a) 8 + (-3) = ?
Example:
b) 8 + (-17) = ?
Example:
c) -22 + 11 = ?
Example:
d)53 + (-53) = ?
The absolute values of 53 and -53 are 53 and 53. Subtracting the smaller from the larger gives 53 - 53 =0. The sign in this case does not matter, since 0 and -0 are the same. Note that 53 and -53 are opposite integers. All opposite integers have this property that their sum is equal to zero. Two integers that add up to zero are also called additive inverses.
Examples:
In the following examples, we convert the subtracted integer to its opposite, and add the two integers.
Note that the result of subtracting two integers could be positive or negative.
Examples:
In the product below, both numbers are positive, so we just take their product.4 × 3 = 12
In the product of (-7) × 6, the first number is negative and the second is positive, so we take the product of their absolute values, which is -7 × 6 = 7 × 6 = 42, and give this result a negative sign: -42, so (-7) × 6 = -42.
In the product of 12 × (-2), the first number is positive and the second is negative, so we take the product of their absolute values, which is 12 × -2 = 12 × 2 = 24, and give this result a negative sign: -24, so 12 × (-2) = -24.
1. Count the number of negative numbers in the product. 2. Take the product of their absolute values.3. If the number of negative integers counted in step 1 is even, the product is just the product from step 2, if the number of negative integers is odd, the product is the opposite of the product in step 2 (give the product in step 2 a negative sign). If any of the integers in the product is 0, the product is 0.
Example:
4 × (-2) × 3 × (-11) × (-5) = ?
Counting the number of negative integers in the product, we see that there are 3 negative integers: -2, -11, and -5. Next, we take the product of the absolute values of each number:4 × -2 × 3 × -11 × -5 = 1320. Since there were an odd number of integers, the product is the opposite of 1320, which is -1320, so4 × (-2) × 3 × (-11) × (-5) = -1320.
Dividing Integers
Examples:
In the division below, both numbers are positive, so we just divide as usual.
In the division below, both numbers are negative, so we divide the absolute value of the first by the absolute value of the second.
In the division (-100) ÷ 25, both number have different signs, so we divide the absolute value of the first number by the absolute value of the second, which is -100 ÷ 25 = 100 ÷ 25 = 4, and give this result a negative sign: -4, so (-100) ÷ 25 = -4.
In the division 98 ÷ (-7), both number have different signs, so we divide the absolute value of the first number by the absolute value of the second, which is 98 ÷ -7 = 98 ÷ 7 = 14, and give this result a negative sign: -14, so 98 ÷ (-7) = -14.
Integer coordinates are pairs of integers that are used to determine points in a grid, relative to a special point called the origin. The origin has coordinates (0,0). We can think of the origin as the center of the grid or the starting point for finding all other points. Any other point in the grid has a pair of coordinates (x,y). The x value or x-coordinate tells how many steps left or right the point is from the point (0,0), just like on the number line (negative is left of the origin, positive is right of the origin). The y value or y-coordinate tells how many steps up or down the point is from the point (0,0), (negative is down from the origin, positive is up from the origin). Using coordinates, we may give the location of any point in the grid we like by simply using a pair of numbers.
Example:
The origin below is where the x-axis and the y-axis meet. Point A has coordinates (2,3), since it is 2 units to the right and 3 units up from the origin. Point B has coordinates (3,1), since it is 3 units to the right, and 1 unit up from the origin. Point C has coordinates (8,-5), since it is 8 units to the right, and 5 units down from the origin. Point D has coordinates (9,-8); it is 9 units to the right, and 8 units down from the origin. Point E has coordinates (-4,-3); it is 4 units to the left, and 3 units down from the origin. Point F has coordinates (-7,6); it is 7 units to the left, and 6 units up from the origin.

Aralin Blg. 1 - Numbers (Ang Mga Bilang o Numero)
Whole Numbers and Integers
Whole Numbers are simply the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, … (and so on)
No Fractions!
Integers are like whole numbers, but they also include negative numbers ... but still no fractions allowed!
So, integers can be negative (-1, -2,-3, -4, -5, … ), positive (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, … ), and zero (0)

Francis M is Dead
MANILA, PHILIPPINES: Francis Magalona, known as the king of Philippine rap music, has died of complications from leukemia, his colleagues said. He was 44.
A rapper, songwriter and producer, Magalona, who also went by the name FrancisM, shot to national fame with his 1990 album "Yo!" and the hit song "Mga Kababayan Ko" (My Countrymen), in which he urged fellow Filipinos to be proud of their heritage, work hard and strive for a better life.
His 1992 album "Rap Is FrancisM" tackled the Philippines' many problems, including illegal drugs and political instability, making Magalona one of the most politically conscious voices of his generation.
He also appeared on the popular TV variety show "Eat Bulaga." One of the show's hosts, Vic Sotto, announced that Magalona died Friday (6 March) in a Manila hospital while undergoing treatment for leukemia.
Magalona also used to be a VJ on MTV Asia. (AP)
