NOCHE BUENA

My wife's nephew - Jimsen - and I had our Christmas Noche Buena in a hotel in downtown Jeddah Street. We had kare-kare and pancit bihon. We thought of ordering halo-halo, inspite of the cold weather but we were already full that we passed the dessert.

Ang ibang mga Pinoy sa aming kumpanya ay nagluto ng pancit bilang noche buena. Wala raw silang datung kaya hindi sila sumama sa amin.

Next week will be the culmination of Pinoy Big Brother 2007 Celebrity Edition 2. Last night, Big Brother asked the remaining 5 contenders to nominate a housemate who should not be included in the Big 4. No one nominated which is a direct disregard to Big Brother's order. Ito ay nagpapatunay lamang na hindi talaga nagpapakatutoo ang mga housemates. Ito ay isang paligsahan at syempre pa, gusto mong manalo. Kung may istratehiya ka, iitsapwera mo ang inaakala mong mabigat mong kalaban.
Did it show that the housemates value friendship more than the prizes? If that is the case, they should not be there. You went inside the Big House to get the prizes and not to make friends. I am not being materialistic but we must be truthful to ourselves. I guess if Big Brother asked them inside the Nomination Room, they will select someone.
Pinili ng mga kasambahay si Ruben bilang BIG WINNER na salungat sa pamantayan ko. Sinabi nilang deserving si Ruben dahil mas kailangan niya at hindi dahil magaling siya. Sa hulihan, ang manonood pa rin ang mamimili ng panalo. Sana, hindi ito maging SYMPATHY VOTE. Pero sa pagkakaalam ko sa mga Pinoy na tulad ko, MALALAMBOT ANG KANILANG MGA PUSO!
Ang hihintayin ko na lang ang PARUSA ng mga housemates kay Kuya!!!

"Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara" is a komicks novel made into a movie starring Susan Roces. It was revived and Dawn Zulueta? became Barbara. In a television production to be aired by ABS-CBN in January 2008, Kris Aquino will play Barbara.
Sa trailer na ipinakikita sa TFC, napansin ko na naman ang "Kunot-noo" acting ni Kris Aquino. Hindi ko alam kung talagang ganoon kung siya ay matakot. Sana ay hindi kumunot ang noo ko habang nanonood.

Politics is like showbusiness and vice versa. And speaking of Jalosjos, the convicted child-rapist is yet to announce his apology to his victim. Pinalalabas pa niyang inosente siya. Hindi na nahiya! Kapal ng mukha! Matanda na siya! Dapat na siyang magpakabait! Madali namang magpatawad ang mga Pinoy!

BARON GEISLER is OUT

Baron Geisler is out of the Pinoy Big Brother House. After being drunk for the second time, Big Brother gave him a forced eviction. It is not the drinking that make his final adieu but his uncontrolled behavior after too much alcohol.

Hindi kaya ni Baron ang epekto ng alak. Nagbabago ang kanyang katauhan. Nagmumura siya sa loob ng bahay, hindi lang sa kasambahay maging kay Kuya. Kahit na sinasalamin niya ang ibang Pinoy, hindi ito magandang ehemplo sa mga kabataan lalo na't isa siyang artista na iniidolo.

Nais ipakita ng Pinoy Big Brother ang KATATAGAN ng mga PINOY at hindi ang kanyang KAHINAAN. Kung nakontrol ni Baron ang sarili sa pag-inom, baka siya pa ang tanghaling winner!

Matatandaan na ang kalasingan din ni Baron ang naging dahilan ng kanyang pagkakabangga kamakailan.

PESO vs DOLLAR

An OFW's (Overseas Filipino Worker) nightmare!
When I decided to temporarily stop working in the Middle East in April 2004, the exchange rate of 1 US dollar to peso is US$ 1 = Php 54+.
Ngayon, pagkatapos ng mahigit na 3 taon, ang palitan ay US$1 = Php 41+. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit nanggagalaiti na ang mga kababayan nating OFW. Okay lang daw kung bumaba ang palitan ng dollar kung may kasabay itong pagbaba ng presyo ng mga bilihin. Ang kaso, patuloy ang pagtaas ng mga bilihin. Sabi nga ng ibang OFW, babalik na lang sila sa Pinas at doon na lang magtatrabaho kasi nga hindi sulit ang kalungkutan nila sa labas g 'Pinas kumpara sa kakaunting diprensya sa sahod.
One of the reasons why the value of peso is increasing is the volume of OFW remittances. The Philippines is overflowed with US dollars. If that is the case, OFW must regulate their remittances. Instead of every month, why not every other month or every quarter?
Even President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo does not have a solution. Akala ko, may masters degree siya sa economics?

This is the front of our portable office. It has 7 rooms, 1 toilet and 1 tearoom. It is about 157 sq.m.. It sits on a 10,000 sq.m. land.

BENAZIR BHUTO'S DEATH

Benazir Bhutto

The death of Benazir Bhuto is a big blow to independence. It shows that terrorism is gaining ground specially Al-Qaeda. We must be vigilant to preserve our life and independence. Like Ninoy Aquino, Benazir Bhutto died upon returning home.

Matatalo lamang ang karahasan kung nagkakaisa ang mga mamamayan. Dapat tayong makisali sa pag-usad ng demokrasya. TAMA NA ANG KARAHASAN!
