Today, April 25, is ANZAC (Australian New Zealand Army Corps) day celebration in Australia and New Zealand. It is on this day in 1915 when Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the Allied expedition that set out to capture Gallipoli Peninsula with the main objective of capturing Istanbul, Turkey. However, many Australian and New Zealand including those from UK, France and Inda died in this battle that lasted for 8 months. This day is to remember the sacrifice of those who died in that battle. Today, the celebration also focuses on all those soldiers died in the war and for those returning soldiers from the war. Read more on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_Day
