CROCtober Fest in the Philippines

The City of Davao in Mindanao, south of Manila, Philippines celebrated its first ever CROCtober Festival this October 2011. Aside from the beer drinking which is synonymous with October Fest, Davaoenos added roasted crocodile or "lechon buwaya" as one of  their pulutans.

The crocodiles that goes to the charcoal come from a private crocodile farm and not from the wild. Crocodile meat is not cheap, though. One kilo of crocmeat costs P2,000 or about $46.50.

Come to Davao City, drink beer and eat "lechon buwaya"!
