Today, May 11, 2012, Filipinos all around the world are protesting against China's bullying over the disputed Panatag Shoal or Scarborough Shoal.
This exchange of claim and counter-claim, accusation and counter-accusation and exchange of words have been going for over a month now when a number of Chinese fishing vessels have been hovering the shoal gathering corals and other marine products.
China claims this stretch of islands which is more than 1,000 km from their shore while it is only about 220 km from the Palauig, Zambales, Philippines. China rejected the proposal of the Philippines to bring the case to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea to ease the dispute. Instead, the Chinese state media announced that China is ready for war.
