JR Royol Wins First Pinoy Masterchef

JR Royol, the " Rakistang Kusinero ng Benguet" won the first ever Pinoy Masterchef for his authentic igorot-bicolano dish named "bigorot". The Live Cook-off grand finals was held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the SM North Edsa Skydome.



JR, a band vocalist, won P1 million, a kitchen showcase, and a Diploma Program for Prefessional Culinary Arts scholarship at the Center for Asian Culinary Studies. His dish scored an average of 96 points from host Judy ann Santos-Agoncillo, chef judges Chef Ferns, Chef Lau, Chef Jayps, and celebrity guest judges Kris Aquino and Richard Gomez.

The other contenders of the contest also won cash prizes and scholarship. Carla won P500,000; P300,000 for Ivory while Myra got P200,000.

OFW OEC Options

It has been a dilemma for many Filipino Overseas Workers (OFWs) to secure the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) issued by Philippine Overseas Emplyment Agency (POEA). This is because getting it requires time and money and always consumes a day or two of vacation time.
