The David-Goliath game is a big challenge for the Philippine Azkals considering that Turkmenistan was runner-up in the 2010 AFC Challenge Cup which was won by North Korea, and isd undefeated so far.

James Younghusband

In addition, two brilliant players - James Younghusband and Angel Guirado will not be playing on this crucial match as they both incurred two yellow cards in last duel with Tajikistan and are suspended for this match.

With the above disadvantages, will the Philippine Azkals still do the impossible? Let's wait and see in a few hours.

Although Phil Younghusband of the Philippine Azkals scored the first goal in the 25th minute of the first half, the dream of the Pinoys were ruined when the strong Turkmenistans struck two goals in the final half. The first goal was kicked in by Arslanmyrat Amanov in the 80th minute while Gahrymanberdi Chonkayev got his goal in the 85th minute. The Azkals will meet the loser between defending champion North Korea and Palestine for the third and fourth places.
