BAMBOO TREE AND THE 21ST CENTURY LEARNERS
When you plant a bamboo seed,
It will sit on the ground for five years,
And appear not to be making any changes;
But have you ever wondered what has been going on, during those years?
The bamboo has established its roots system, deep and broad.
So it can grow high and proud,
A perfect model of endurance;
Because everyone knows,
in due time its glory will appear.
This is the secret to preparing children,
For the challenges of 21st century learning,
Helping them develop lifelong socio-emotional skills,
And building emotional resilience in their early years,
Is the key to a strong foundation of their future.
In the aftermath of a strong storm
Bamboo is the only tree left standing
Aristotle once said," Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all".
We indeed need to work together,
To create opportunities for children,
To develop strong hearts and strong minds,
For stronger society........in the 21st century.
