Fishing is Fun

I think the prediction of Fishing Reminder yesterday, 23 June 2017 was correct by rating 4 the day 4 stars out of 4. I was able to catch a total of 17 fish. However, only two of them were big which I already fried.

My co-employees who are not into fishing often wonder why I have to trek 30 minutes under a searing sun just to catch fish. Added to this are the sunburn and some bruises that I got.

Sometimes, I wonder too. But, if you are in the water catching those eluded fish, you get this feeling of euphoria especially when you caught them.

Some people may not know it but it is not catching the fish per se that fishing is fun. It is that moment in time when your bait was being bitten my the fish, especially on those days when they are in the eating mode. The moment of waiting and then suddenly the biting of your bait make your day. Of course, catching the fish is the ultimate prize!

Catching fish is not easy. The waiting time often seems endless and you want to give up especially when you are standing up under a boiling sun and salty wind. Spend those moments reminiscing the past, planning for the future, and thanking and smiling for today. While the rest of the world are sleeping, working, and browsing on the internet, mobile phones, and tablets, you are there catching fish enjoying your leisure time.

You may not any catch fish for the day but the hope of catching one tomorrow is there. Happy fishing everyone!

Second & Third Fishing Adventure at Jubail Corniche

I had my second fishing adventure at Jubail Corniche on Thursday, 25 May 2017  At five in the afternoon, Donald, Rudy and I went to the fishing area on a pickup driven by Anilkumar, an Indian.
I had bought a fishing rod two days ago for SR 170.00, about US$45.00, hoping to get a good catch.

Unfortunately, the line got entangled just for two throws. I ended up watching my companions all along.

The following day, Friday, 26 May 2017, I decided to go fishing without Donald, who had an overtime work, at around 8:00 in the morning. I have not fix my newly bought fishing rod. I made this improvised fishing tool for the day’s catch.

Juliuos drove me to the fishing site.

There, I saw Rudy who was already fishing since 7:00 AM
.
The water was rising when I arrived as predicted. It was the best day of my fishing adventure because the fish were hungry and I caught 4.30 kilos white bream for 4 hours of fishing.

Although not yet too hot, my skin got burned.

However, I was still very happy for my bounty.

I shared some of the fish to my co-workers. Unfortunately, Rudy did not catch anything which puzzled me.

First Fishing Escapade at Jubail Corniche

Today, 19 May 2017, is my first day of fishing with my co-worker Donald Derla. I decided on going to a fishing escapade to eliminate boredom and minimize using my tablet and watching television which cause eye irritation. As a Friday, today is our day-off.

A day earlier, I consulted https://www.fishingreminder.com/SA/charts/fishing_times/Jubail, to know the fishing atmosphere and solunar periods or the major and minor feeding times of fish. Based on their calculations of the position of the sun and the moon, today has a rating of 2 stars out of 4.

Donald had an overtime job in the morning that’s why we proceeded to the fishing area, which is about 10 minutes (if you are fast walker) from our camp/accommodation at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon. Under a searing sun of about 42 – 43 degrees Celsius, Donald and I walked to the coast.

Because of the weather, I decided to stay at a makeshift tent upon arrival and did a selfie.

My companion proceeded to the water at no time.

At the end of the day, I caught 3 white bream of different sizes.
