On Christmas Day, December 25, 2011, moviegoers around Metro Manila and in other parts of the Philippines will watch nothing but Filipino movies. Sad to say, most of these movies are only sequels of the previous entries. This proves that movie producers are focusing on the financial capabilities of the films and not on the festival's theme. It also suggests that screenwriters had a mental block and did not create interesting stories. The 8 official entries to the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival are:
