Seventeen examinees or 13.28% out of 128 passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Jeddah & Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in Doha, Qatar in December 2011. This was announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) of the Philippines. The examination was conducted by the Board of Accountancy headed by Eugene T. Mateo and assisted by Rufo R. mendoza, Luis A. Canete and Jose S. Tayag, Jr.

Anyway, congratulations to all new CPAs and I hope the Code of Ethics of the profession is being upheld even in the Middle East which I also think is very difficult as it is in the Philippines. This is because business owners want to declare small profit for little taxes.
