George Washington
The first president of the United States was George Washington. He was inaugurated on April 30,1789. He served the US presidency two times, from 1789 - 1792 and from 1792 - 1797. He did not have any political party when he became the president.
George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. He led the American victory over the British occupation as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army from 1775 to 1783. He also presided the writing of the US Constitution in 1787. He established the cabinet system of government and delivered an inaugural address. He was considered the "Father of USA". He died on December 14, 1799.
John Adams
During the term of Washington, John Adams served as his vice-president. He assumed the presidency on March 4, 1797 and left 4 years after on March 4, 1801. He belonged to the Federalist Party.
John Adams was born on October 30, 1735. He originated from New England and was a prominent lawyer and public fiigure in Boston, Massachusetts. He was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. He was the father of John Quincy Adams, the 6th president of the US. He died on July 4, 1826.
