Top 12 X Factor Philippines 2012

After spending their weekends with their respective mentors in different locations, the top 20 of the X Factor Philippines has been reduced into 12 on July 29, 2012 It means that 2 individuals or groups have been eliminated from the competition.  Here are the lucky top 12 in their respectively category:

Boys

With Martin Nievera as their mentor and Arnel Pineda assisting him, the 5 finalists in the Boys category spent their days at the Cove Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas. After their do or die performance, the following had been chosen as the top 3 in their category:

Girls

At Bayview Hotel in Manila, Charice Pempengco with Cheesa chose the top 3 in the Girls category. The lucky performers are:

Over 25

Enjoying their bonding at the QC Mansion with Pilita Morales and Rico J. Puno, the Over 25 finalist sang their heart out to impress. The chosen talents are:

Group

It was not easy for Gary Valenciano and guest judge Jed Madela to pick the top 3 in the Group category at the Tagaytay Highlands. The following impressed the duo:

The top 12 will perform LIVE where they will be judged by the viewing public.

Top 20 Finalists X Factor Philippines

The waiting is now over. After a grueling selection, showdown and elimination, the top 20 of the first X Factor Philippines talent search has been chosen by the four judges - Pilita Corrales, Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera at Charice Pempengco - on Sunday, July 22, 2012. The 20 semifinalists have been chosen out of the172 talents who have been invited to the Boot Camp after the auditions all over thee Philippines. The top 20 has been grouped into:

TAKEOFF gets 4 YESes at X Factor Philippines

TAKEOFF, previously known as Voyz Avenue, got the nods of all the judges - Pilita Corrales,Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera & Charice Pempengco - during the boy band audition at X Factor Philippines yesterday, July 8, 2012.

The all boy group was renamed takeoff , according to its Facebook Account:
A : a rise or leap from a surface in making a jump or flight or an ascent in an aircraft or in the launching of a rocket
B : an action of starting out
C : a rapid rise in activity, growth, or popularity (an economic takeoff)
 
We are taking our lives to a higher level or phase, individually, as a group and as performing artists. 

As Voyz Avenue, the group was declared as 2011 Aliw Awards Best New Artist (Group). It was formed in 2005 with Raffy, Ice, JZ and Geoff as original members. The current Takeoff includes JZ Zamora, Rafffy Calicdan, Ice Medina, Neo Domingo and Gerald Yranon.

PBB Teen Season 4 Big Winner is Myrtle Sarrosa

One day before the big night for the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4, the Big Winner was already known. He is Roy Dela Cerna Requejo, the "Boy Sipag ng Naga". It was alleged that the TV network sponsoring the reality TV was behind the win. It was alleged that employees,their friends and families were advised to vote for the Bicolano teenager. The so-called "indirect instruction" was made to make sure that Roy who comes from a poor family get the big share of the prizes, because the voting is so close.

Judging from the previous Big Winners of Pinoy Big Brother, most of them came from not well-to-do families. As a result, sympathy votes reigned for their win. This is the same scenario for this PBB Teen edition 4. However, I do not believe that ABS-CBN has something to do with the Big Winner, directly or indirectly.

Tomorrow, July 7,2012 at the Malolos Sports and Convention Center, the Big Winner will be announced. Whoever it is, I hope that there is no "hocus-pocus" for his/her selection.
